Traffic is not what it used to be, when we were virtually limited to cars, motorbikes, bicycles and walking.
Today, we also have electric scooters, electric bikes, skateboards… In short, there are more and more forms of movement in traffic, the pace of life is increasing and all this can lead to many traffic accidents.
It is with the aim of preventing unpleasant traffic experiences that, in cooperation with the client Zavarovalnica Triglav, d.d., we have designed the long-term recurring preventive event Crossroads of Micromobility, which connects points related to the coexistence of road users.
At the last event in July before the Aleja shopping destination in Ljubljana, participants could try their hand at the micro-mobility crossroads, test their driving skills on the e-skier simulator, try out the treadmill, the running skateboards, freshen up at the refreshment point, and children could also try out the handbike, have fun and learn about traffic in the children’s corner.
At the event, former biathlete and World Champion in the mixed relay, Klemen Bauer presented his innovation – running skates with integrated brakes.
His younger club mates from the Ihan Ski Club also ran on the crossroads of micro-mobility, the Olympic medallist in snowboarding, Žan Košir, rode on a “regular” skateboard, paracyclist Anej Doplihar rode on a specially adapted bicycle, and Andrej Brglez, using the example of a car and a motorbike, presented the benefits and pitfalls of driver and pedestrian assistance systems.
The aim of the event is to raise awareness about better safety and the use of micro-vehicles in road transport.
If at least one accident has been prevented by a single event, the objective has been achieved.
